Local Artist Visit

Wednesday & Thursday of this week local Artist Mrs. Corrine Mance visited the Art Room with a Glass Demo.  Students were so excited they continued on Friday.  I barely took any photos because the art quickly left the room with the proud artists.  Big thanks to Corrine for bringing her Back Porch Studio into Drawing & Painting Class at FACS (Our Mascot is a Cardinal)

Narwhal Gift

Elementary Art classes begin with a rush of eager smiles.  I have a 4th grade student that floats in each week like a little strawberry haired fairy.  She asked if I liked her Narwhal Pin. I replied with an emphatic yes.  She dug down into her jeans pocket, turning it inside out to reveal another pin along with some lint.
I proudly attached it to my lanyard considering it a highlight of the school year!

Painting with Beet Juice

Painting with Beet Juice.  This morning I was filling the dishwasher, like always and this beautiful red leftover beet juice made me take pause for a 5 minute sketch/Painting.  It was so dark I had to use water to make sure the cherry blossoms came out pink.
