Among many other things today I learned that I am in the company of amazing people.  Within a small group we developed a game companion to the Fort Ann Photo Book (in theory).  When students try this out in the Fall I will be ready to guide them just like our instructor did today.  Thank You Mr. A. Welcome Back Owl

Leaning toward a Back to School Welcome that might resonate with Harry Potter fans.  Here is an owl I made with plans of mass production (each pc. standard copy size).  An on-line reference was used while drawing.

The separate parts will allow for the wings and head to be positioned in different ways so they don't all look exactly the same.

Seed Packet Thank You

Found ideas and free blank seed templates on several diy sites.  Made my own and personalized it with a drawing.  The instructions for seed planting came from a cone flower seed blanket that I purchased to put inside.  It is a long lasting perennial that is cheerful and adaptable!

Have Paint - Will Travel

I need to travel with small watercolor pallettes and my budget will not allow for the convenient traveling paint pallettes from art supply.  Here are the search results:  

This is a pill box from the dollar store.  The containers work really well and the rainbow helps with color selection but they all stack and twist.  There is only one cap for the top.  Stacking and twisting isn't easy.

$2 for a set of 3 boxes.  The color of the box affects the paint color and the compartments are not ideal.  The lids might leak on the trip home.

This pill box is less than a dollar.  Easy open - if you apply pressure in the correct area.  I would suggest getting white/clear because the color of the container affects the color of paint.

This pill box is less than a dollar.  It is the least attractive but the most practical.  Tons of space for a full palette.  The lids remove completely.  Stay shut tight, easy open

4 Irresistible Notebooks

This 4 pack of irresistible little journals comes with a paper making history dating back to 1264.  Also, detailed information about the contents and the source of the paper.  After experimenting a little I found that watercolor is not an option.  Not even with a very dry brush.  These notebooks are made for notes, dry sketches, pens and markers.

These 2 Journals came wrapped in a paper band, side A & B.  Side A is the outer description.  Side B has instructions to color a bookmark and also create your own.  There is an invitation to post the bookmark/journal creations on their website which is filled with amazing art.

Inside was the history of the brand, 36 stickers and a quality control sticker.  Every detail beautifully done and all the pages are detachable.

I haven't used the journal yet but have owned a tiny address book for over ten years that looks exactly the same as the day I bought it!

No guessing or experimentation required for this journal.  There is a detailed description of what media you can use in 3 languages.  It looks and feels buttery rich.  Found it on sale for $7.50

Mixed Media Burlap Journal

This Mixed Media Burlap Journal from the Paper Studio ranges in price from $8 to $12 online.  It includes a removable 50 sheet notebook 6" x 8.25." The paper looks like hand made cotton.  The packaging says that it is made in India.  When I tried to erase the paper rubbed off and the texture was bumpy under the pen.  It might be best to use this paper for stamping, dry brush and pastels.
