New Mandala Game

A new Mandala Game has been created!  This one will be revealed to students asap.  All others will have to wait for the next workshop.  Meanwhile a template created for a sub is available on TPT.  Happy to know that it can be printed on watercolor paper and that the ink holds up to watercolors.

Great Super Day!

Our Art Teacher PLC is officially underway.  We had a very productive day in conversation and making.  Thank you WCC for providing a structured gathering.  Thank you Blick for the awesome Lesson Plan and supplies.

Stitching Exemplar!

Washington County is so lucky to have this group of Art Teachers.  They are kind to one another, generous with their time and resources, non-judgemental.  No pink posty notes required ;)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today was the first announced observation for the year.  A First Grade Class met me at the door with individual birthday cards and wishes.  The wishes came a day ahead because students don't have school tomorrow.  Thank you Ms. A + Class

Best Birthday cards EVER!

So Much Painted Paper

So much painted paper!  K-5 in the style of Eric Carle specifically for collage animals and Studio Media Art for digital collages.

Gems & Crystals Growing in the Art Room

Studio Foundation is putting the finishing touches on their giant gems and crystals.  They are generating so much excitement from the K-5 kids that I'm pushing for them to be finished and out in a display case.  Will post more when they are shining bright with a coating of Mod Podge.

New Apron

There have been so many new aprons over the years but I always go back to the first one from 15 years ago.  It is before first paycheck cheap!
The more expensive, adjustable aprons are NOT comfortable.  The fabric is stiff and adjusting the straps is a pain.
So, I searched high and low for the thin, light straps that go on and off in a hurry, no adjustment required.  Hopefully this is the one because even the little kids have started to pick on me for always going back to the first apron.
Felt from a favorite art/craft supply on sale 4/$1.00 and the name is Slick Fabric Paint.  Embroidery Floss from Boho Chic.

Felt Journal Covers

Loving this quick easy journal cover idea from Blick.  Using the lesson plan:  Leave a Trail
All the material used are from Blick.  Felt, floss, needle, Blick Acrylic placed in Detail Writer Bottles.  Modified it a bit by using one and a half pieces of 9 x 12 felt.  One piece covers the book and the half piece is cut in half again.  These two peices are sewn with a blanket stitch on the ends to keep the cover on the book.  The felt stretches and forms to the book.
So many possibilities!

Former Student Makes Beautiful Signs

So much talent in High School and still creating!  Former student Haley Duggan.  Everything she makes is beautiful!

Soaking Watercolor Pans

Cleaning watercolor pans is not the norm.  Trying something new and liking the sudsy grungy pastel pans.
